Galaxy A51 By Samsung

Now that the middle range market more saturated than ever before, we thought it's a good idea to test a device that is selling in large numbers around the world, the Galaxy A51. With a restrained yet classic design, the Galaxy A51 has quadruple rear cameras, an AMOLED display and a centrally located selfie camera, as well as a glass-tastick rear back.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 has been on the market in Europe since February and the A51 went on sale in the USA in April and is priced at £330/$400.

Styling And Design

Owing to the glass-ticky rear, the Galaxy A51 doesn't really feel or look like it is a mid-range device, the plastic construction feels forgiving when in the grip because there are no sharp edges like you sometimes get on smartphones that are built with rear panels built from glass. The design characteristic on the rear paneling is nice and provides some class to the A51. Often the branding on enbtry level devices can be a smidgen overdone sometimes, Samsung's brand is discretely used.
You will notice a front camera setup which, for whatever reason, is becomes even noticeable due to what seems to be a metallic ring that attracts attention.
Serious audio fans are sure to be happy in the fact that there's an audio jack placed on the handset's bottom, with a Type C charging port as well as a speaker chamber.
On the top of the handset there's a single microphone and on the right side has the power button as well as the sound rocker and a SIM tray place on the left edge.
It is tidy and inoffensive looking handset that fits in a normal-sized jeans pocket with no drama.

Galaxy A51 Performance

The Super read more here AMOLED display is great as you expect from this company}, the colours appear vibrant with the handset's viewing angles being a pleasure. There's not a lot to quibble about apart from it’s a bit dim (but very readable) even when in direct sunlight and circumstances are not ideal for viewing, even with the brightness fully up.
And this is where roadtesting flagship smartphones such as OPPO’s Find X2 Pro the OnePlus 8 can be hurtful in developing a sense of a mid-range phone such as Sasmung's Galaxy A51.
This A51's 9611 CPU can't compare to the Snapdragon 865 unit in any way, and moving from the former to the Snapdragon is a slap to the face until you understand that the Galaxy A51 is just a mid-range unit and allowances must be allowed for.
No mistaking that, the A51 is laggy at times and we were sometimes left wondering whether the phone had indeed registered my touch or not when trying to open an app or to make use of the unit.
Frankly, its a level of lag that we have not experienced in quite some time, even with cheaper handsets such as Honor's 10 Lite that costs just £145.
As for the in-display fingerprint scanner, I will just say that Samsung should have stuck it in the rear panel as I got a success ratio of roughly half when trying to unlock the device before ending up entering the pin code in.
